Mount Kenya, an extinct volcano sitting on the Equator, is the second highest peak in Africa standing at 5199m. Mount Kenya National Park is one of the most impressive landscapes in East Africa. The pristine wilderness has vast diversity with lakes, mineral springs, glacier peaks of breathtaking beauty and upland forest progressing into montane and bamboo forest. The wildlife is unique with high-altitude adapted plains game, elephant, eland and rare species including leopard, black-fronted duiker, and the elusive giant forest hog and bongo.
